A photo exhibition with focus on Swedish dads and equality

In 2015 when Johan Bävman, a Swede and a photographer, realized that he was about to become a father, he noticed the lack of role models around him. Even though Sweden has one of the most generous systems of parental leave in the world, only 14% of parents chose to share the parental leave equally. Bävman understood that the road to an equal society started at home. The idea was born as a series of portraits of dads who chose to stay at home with their children for at least six months, their reasons why, and how it had changed them.

On 5-7 June 2017, during the MAN2017 Conference on masculinity, at Radisson Blue Hotel in Belgrade, the Embassy of Sweden will display parts of this thought provoking photo exhibition on gender equality with the support of the Swedish Institute and in collaboration with the Serbian NGO “The Nest”.
